Focus: AI in the «Generation Learning Lab» – Intergenerational learning in the context of artificial intelligence

ree

The aim of this Learning Journey is to actively promote intergenerational learning – across age groups, hierarchies and disciplines.

What exactly is it about?

The focus is on learning tandems consisting of employees of different age groups and professional backgrounds. Together, they address questions related to AI, develop solutions, and reflect on their learning processes.

As part of the learning journey, the tandems are developing concrete learning projects, each addressing a real challenge in the use or implementation of AI in cantonal administration. All projects have resulted in practical solutions – some of which are already being implemented.

The goal is to learn from each other – in both directions:

  • Younger people benefit from the experience and knowledge of older colleagues.

  • Older people gain insights into new ways of thinking, methods and digital tools.

  • Prejudices between generations are reduced.

  • Mutual understanding is strengthened.

  • Motivation to learn increases – both individually and organizationally.

  • The transfer of knowledge and exchange of experience is specifically promoted.

What we take with us

The Generation Learning Lab is a testing ground for a future-oriented learning culture. It provides insights into how intergenerational learning works at the individual, social, and organizational levels—and how it can be systematically integrated into the ongoing development of the entire organization.
