Goal: Lifelong learning in everyday business life

Period: 8 months

Timeframe: February 2 – November 27, 2021

Participants: 14 employees from different teams, across all hierarchical levels

Reflection of Participants (in Swiss German)

LBZ has initiated an eight-month pilot learning journey together with Intrinsic to establish a sustainable learning culture: employees should continuously develop themselves and embed learning as an integral part of their everyday work.

After the first Learning Journey with Intrinsic, the LBZ implemented four more Learning Journeys itself in the spirit of “peer-to-peer” learning by 2025.

LBZ aims to develop a learning culture that encourages employees to engage in a continuous development process. The goal of the LBZ is to make "lifelong learning" a matter of course in everyday company life.

In 2021, an interdisciplinary team of 14 people, from receptionists to career counselors to the director, embarked on the first eight-month learning journey. At the same time, the entire staff experienced a mini-learning journey at a "retreat," giving them a taste of what they too would one day experience. By September 2023, the team from the first LBZ Learning Journey had implemented three more learning journeys at the LBZ – in the spirit of "peer-to-peer" learning. The development of the learning culture has thus already reached one-third of the entire workforce!

We are particularly pleased that through the first learning journey we were able to establish a "viable" structure within the company that continues to flourish without us.

The joy of learning that comes from the Learning Journey is contagious."

Esther Albrecht: Career, study and career advisor, LBZ

Conclusion

Through the initial Learning Journey with Intrinsic and the consistent peer-to-peer scaling, the LBZ was able to establish not only a "viable" learning structure, but also a self-sustaining learning movement that continues to exist and grow without external stimulus.
